International Cooperation Meeting (feat. Portuguese-speaking Countries) held in Guangzhou.

In order to strengthen international cooperation, promote economic and trade exchanges between China and Portugese Speaking Countries as well as deepen exchanges between Guangzhou and Macao, on March 9, the "International Cooperation (Portuguese-speaking Countries) Exchange Conference" was held in Guangzhou ( Huangpu District).


Ms Amy Wong, President of Macau Victory International Group, said in her opening remarks that "Portuguese-speaking countries are important hubs of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. They play an important and positive role in promoting economic mutual promotion, building consensus and expanding cooperation among Guangzhou, Guangdong and even the whole country."





It is hoped that this event will serve as a stepping stone to promote the innovative development of cross-border trade by promoting cooperation and exchanges in the fields of international intellectual property rights and legal services. To provide a docking platform for mainland enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Portuguese-speaking countries and countries along the "Belt and Road," promote high-quality local economic development, and also hope to build a cooperation bridge for enterprises from Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries.



Zheng Zhuowen, a member of the CPPCC Party Group of Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, said in her speech that "the Guangzhou Development Zone has always been aiming to be the first choice for foreign cooperation and opening up, and has become the first 'paradise' for foreign, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enterprises to position themselves in Guangzhou. The Guangzhou Development Zone has made great strides in the business environment for many years. The main economic indicators rank first in the national economic development zone, and it was selected as a national import trade promotion innovation demonstration zone, showing the obvious advantages of large economic aggregate, strong financial strength and strong development potential. Therefore, Portuguese-speaking countries and Macao's high-quality resources are very welcome to come and invest and reap the benefits and rewards of such policies and initiatives.


At the meeting, representatives of government units, enterprises, Portuguese-speaking countries, lawyers from Macao and other countries exchanged views on "international cooperation."



Guo Haipeng, Deputy Director of the Guangzhou Development Zone Guangzhou Science and Technology Cooperation Park, introduced the development and industrial layout of the park. Sharing the business model of Guangzhou and Hong Kong in foreign trade, international cooperation and economic exchanges, hoping to share business opportunities and promote development with Portuguese-speaking countries.



Mr Rodrigo Mendia de Castro, Partner of FCLaw Law firm discussed about the challenges and opportunities for those from Portugese Speaking Countries and the important role of Macao Lawyers in the current legal landscape that can facilitate the legal needs of those doing business in the Greater Bay Area.



Zou Yan, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Office of Guangzhou Development Zone, said, As one of the business cards of Guangzhou Development Zone, intellectual property has given full play to the role of the national intellectual property demonstration zone, opened up the mechanism for domestic and foreign innovators to seek diversified intellectual property services, and has become a bridge for many domestic enterprises to go abroad and develop abroad.






Mr Dario Silva, President of the China-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, introduced the investment environment in Portugal and the relevant situation of China-Portland International Trade and Investment Cooperation Center.






Mr Giare B Fernades, Vice President of the China-Angola Chamber of Commerce, shared the investment opportunities and advantages of Angola.




And Mario da Silva Ferreira, Vice Consul of the Consulate General of Portugal in Guangzhou, Levi Gunza, Vice Consul of the Consulate-General of the Republic of Angola in Guangzhou, called on both sides to explore bilateral and multilateral investment cooperation to promote the development of economic and trade activities between the two places.



The event was guided by the Office of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Guangzhou Huangpu District Committee and the Management Committee of Guangzhou Development Zone Suigang Science and Technology Cooperation Park.






The event concluded with a dinner reception hosted by Victory Group and FCLaw Law firm of Macao, with more than 50 people attending the event,
