Victory Group at 13th CIPAC China IP Annual Conference , Beijing 2024

The Victory team, consisting of Ms Amy Wong, Leo Liu, Cheng Shan (Sunny) and Mr Liang attended and showcased a booth at Mainland China's annual CIPAC Conference, which is in its 13th iteration. The conference had official registrations at almost 10,000 guests from mainland China and abroad.

Our India partner , Mr Shekar , founder of KA Partners , India , was available on hand for the conference, as we also embark to expand our IP services to India. He relayed to clients practical strategies for filing Patent applications in India, and beyond the technical aspects also highlighted the unique incentive by the Government of India in offering women inventors a much faster formal examination time, with some cases concluding within a year.

 In addition, Mr Shekar also addressed common misconceptions about the difficulty of doing business in India, of which he emphasiszed that many and most have been propagated by those not doing things according to law, especially in relation to transfer pricing and anti dumping issues. This gave the impression that the government was being firm with Chinese investors in general, which was and has never been the case. He emphasized that the hurdles relate mostly not understanding the investment environment, which is exactly his firm’s expertise and purpose to assist clientele to successfully navigate India.

Ms Amy Wong gave a talk at the opening banquet of CIPAC 2024, of which Victory Group was a partner for , welcoming guests, with this year’s conference attracting almost 10,000 guests in total. CIPAC was initially focused on Patents only, but over the years expanded scope to include trademarks, designs and GI as well. She introduced the firm as well our new services related to tech finance, which is set to be a key platform that essentially bring Patents to life by providing a unique funding platform bringing Patent owners, Enterprises and Investor funds , putting them on the same page to facilitate and resolve capital requirements of all three parties.

In addition , Mr Cheng Shan, who has been attending the conference since 2018 received the pioneering partner of CIPAC acknowledgment on behalf of the firm.

The team showcased the firms offering at booth A29 , and met with existing and new clients over the course of the two days to discuss business opportunities moving forward.

Victory and Chispo IP Friends Gathering

The day after CIPAC, 15th September, Beijing Chispo Law firm Director Maggie and Victory Groups International IP Director Sunny hosted a morning get together amongst IP friends, followed by a lunch. It was a good chance for colleagues to network in a relaxed environment, while overlooking some of Beijings charm and sites including part of the Great Wall and of course Beijings oldest railway station. Chispo has a strong international team of lawyers serving their local market within Beijing and other cities.
